How I used to drive before I got a DSG tune was to run the car in Sports mode and hit cruise control when at the desired speed. This would stop the car from revving it's tits off and when I did hit the brakes it would instantly change up a cog or two so it was ready to "go" straight away. It's a much safer way to drive and reduces the need for continually changing between "D" and "S" which kind of defeats the purpose of an auto box in a way.
And have to agree that a sprint booster / pedal box can assist in speeding up a sluggish accelerator pedal as it effectively stops the throttle reponse from going into lazy mode. Otherwise you have to give your car a good thrashing every now and then just to keep the throttle responsive.
